Behold the earth! See live images of the Earth from the International Space Station coming to you through NASA's High Definition Earth Visualization (HDEV) experiment. While the experiment is operational, displays will usually be sequenced by different cameras. If you are seeing a black image, the Space Station is on the night side of the earth. If you are viewing an image with text displayed, communications are switching between satellites and camera feeds are temporarily unavailable. Between the camera switches, a black and gray slate will also appear briefly. The experiment was launched on April 30, 2014 and is mounted on the External Payload Facility of the European Space Agency's Columbus module. This experiment includes several commercial Earth-facing HD camcorders that are placed in a pressurized, temperature-controlled enclosure. To learn more about the HDE experiment
