Growing up just outside of NYC, with the constant flow of transport category aircraft above, one would assume that this was my reason for learning to fly, but it wasn't. Like many people, most of my knowledge of aviation came from the news and documentaries about airplane crashes, with one exception; the movie Flight! I didn't know it at the time, but watching that movie in one of the first iMAX HD theaters planted the seed for what would become a lifelong love of aviation. Fast forward a few years later, after a flight with my friend and co-worker Lou in his Cessna 170B, I started lessons. By 2002 I was a private pilot, 2008 came the IFR rating, 2014 my Commercial SEL, 2017 CFI and so on. My mission: As pilots' we MUST inspire the next generation, talk about flying, make videos, take pictures, and even write about it! Above all, be safe and set a good example!
